Mobile Safety Escorts

The CARES Department provides a mobile escort service available to the entire college community. This phone service is available anytime you are uncomfortable walking from one point to another.
You can call 212-854-3362 from your cell phone and a CARES staff member will stay on the line with you while you walk to your destination. 

If a crime does occur on-campus, call the CARES emergency line immediately at 212-854-6666.  
For off-campus students, call 911 immediately.  The CARES Department seeks to support victims of crime or other adverse experiences and provides appropriate referrals to on-campus and local community resources. 

On-Demand Evening Shuttle

Barnard partners with Columbia University in offering an evening shuttle service using the Columbia Evening Shuttle app. Please click here to see the most up-to-date service hour information. This point-to-point service is a limited shared ride within a geo-fenced area of the Morningside and Manhattanville area and may be especially helpful for students living on or close to campus. 

Using the app is the easiest and most effective way to coordinate a ride, but if you cannot use the app, you can also call for a ride. 

Columbia University Intercampus Shuttle Service

Barnard students, faculty, and staff (current ID Holders) can use the Columbia Intercampus Shuttle Service that connects Columbia's Morningside, Manhattanville, and Medical Center campuses.  More information about the Columbia Intercampus Shuttle can be found on their website.
