Dear Barnard community,
We want to let you know that we will be doing construction work tomorrow through Tuesday, November 7 in Barnard Hall and on the walkway in front of Milbank Hall. Please see the information below:
Barnard Hall - Francine LeFrak Center for Well-Being
Starting tomorrow morning, the construction team in Barnard Hall will be working in several areas including:
- Door removal and installation in the lobby
- Carpentry work on the southwest corner of the second floor
- Painting on the third floor outside Sulzberger Parlor
- Installation of a sprinkler pipe in the Barnard Annex vestibule (access to the Annex will be maintained)
- Structural work in the attic
Walkway in front of Milbank Hall - Roy and Diana Vagelos Science Center/Altschul renovation (RDSC)
Beginning tomorrow morning, construction workers will begin removing bricks and concrete from a portion of the walkway in front of Milbank Hall to do a survey of utilities. During this time, the area will be behind barricades, but the Claremont Avenue/119th Street entrance to campus will remain open. There may be some noise during the first day or so. The work should be completed by Tuesday.
We’d also like to thank everyone who glimpsed into the future at our RDSC workshops on Wednesday - we’ll be posting the information we shared that day on the Barnard Builds website in the next few weeks.
Thank you for your patience as we do this important work over these next four days. We hope you have a restful Fall Break!
