This fall, term assistant professor of education Erika Kitzmiller published the article "We Are the Forgotten of the Forgottens: The Effects of Charter School Reform on Public School Teachers," in the Fall 2020 issue of the Harvard Educational Review. "We Are the Forgotten of the Forgottens" analyzes the recent trend of public schools that are closed in favor of opening new, privately managed charter schools. Kitzmiller considers the consequences of this shift from an often excluded point of view: the public school teachers. These public school reforms could give rise to further inequalities in the education system, a concept that Kitzmiller has examined throughout her career.
