In December 2020, Claire Tow Professor of Anthropology Paige West published the article "Becoming Through the Mundane: Asylum Seekers and the Making of Selves in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea" in the interdisciplinary academic journal The Contemporary Pacific.
West — whose interests lie in Indigenous sovereignty, political ecology, and environmental conservation — focused the paper on how the subjectivities of asylum seekers and refugees are constituted through various social spaces and practices.
