Dear Barnard students,
We join together in mourning the victims of this weekend's senseless attack at a nightclub in Colorado. This attack, which is being investigated as a hate crime, leaves us saddened and outraged. This has been a particularly difficult week as we also mourn the victims of the horrific attacks on students at the universities of Virginia and Idaho, and other senseless tragedies that may have not made national news.
We understand how disturbing this news may be and we are here to offer support. All members of the Barnard community are urged to take advantage of the counseling and other support services available to you. For students who would like more information or to seek these services, please visit the Furman Counseling Center, located at 100 Hewitt Hall, or call 212-854-2092 or email counseling@barnard.edu. The student after-hours Psychological Emergency Line is 855-622-1903. Students who need non-emergency support can contact CARES Response at 212-854-3362. Students who are abroad can contact International SOS at +1-215-942-8478.
We wish you all a safe and restful Thanksgiving break, and continued health and wellness in these final weeks of the semester.
Sincerely,
Leslie Grinage
Dean of the College
