Dear Members of the Barnard Community,
As we find ourselves several weeks into 2023, I hope that the joy and wonder of the New Year continues to fill your days.
Since my last update letter to you, the Search Committee has made great progress in our ongoing work of finding a successor to President Beilock. I send you continued gratitude for all of the feedback, thoughts, and ideas that have been shared with us throughout this process – all of which continues to inform our work.
Over the last several weeks, we have been meeting with and getting to know a focused list of candidates who have experience and accomplishments from a variety of types of institutions within academia, have varied backgrounds, identities and perspectives, and most critically, who firmly believe in the mission of providing the highest-quality liberal arts education to promising and high-achieving young women.
We have been impressed by the qualifications of the candidates who are being considered for Barnard’s presidency, and are proud to be members of a community that attracts prospective leaders who are so immensely talented and accomplished.
At this time, the Search Committee is currently moving into the final stages of the process and remains committed to the goal of completing the search by this spring. I very much look forward to providing you with additional updates.
Most sincerely,
Cheryl Glicker Milstein ’82, P’14
Chair, Barnard Board of Trustees
