Caroline Fermin attended The Juilliard School and began dancing with James Sewell Ballet after graduating. She is a founding member of Andrea Miller’s Gallim Dance where she toured and performed internationally, later becoming rehearsal director and Education Chair. Caroline continues to freelance professionally as a performer, and is currently dancing with Jeanette Stoner. As a choreographer, Caroline has worked with Damien Woetzel, Lil’Buck, and Jonathan Batiste, among other musicians, actors, and dancers. Her work is primarily collaborative and investigates the function of community and the somaticization of the psyche. She is at currently devising a dance theater piece with director Mauricio Salgado at Trinity Repertory Company and has been commissioned to create a new work for the dancers at Stockton University. In 2015 she began teaching at Barnard College. She is a teaching artist for New York City Center and Juilliard, and an advocate for arts in communities. She works extensively with civic engagement programs such as Artist Striving to End Poverty, to create arts programming for youths of all ages. Caroline is currently pursuing her M.F.A. with a focus in choreography.
