The Class of 2021 — and the entire College — are currently counting down the seven days until Commencement 2021 takes place on April 29. With one week left before graduation, we are continuing to highlight some of the most memorable moments from the past four years to celebrate our soon-to-be graduates.
Throughout December 2020, three seniors — Madison Murphy ’21, Saskia Ghosh ’21, and Mae Viccica ’21 — in Barnard’s Athena Center for Leadership produced a three-part virtual concert for people living, and social distancing, in senior facilities in New York City. The musical series, called The Harmony Series, consisted of three publicly available virtual concerts and featured Barnard and Columbia student-musicians.
“When Saskia told me about this idea in August, I was instantly drawn in,” said Viccica. “I wanted my Athena Senior Action Project to be meaningful and something I am passionate about. I love working on it because it feels like a thoughtful and valuable contribution to our community and beyond; the intergenerational aspect of the project is definitely powerful.”
