Leonor has been a term associate professor at Barnard's Department of Spanish and Latin American Cultures since 2012. Prior to Barnard, she taught Spanish as a Foreign Language at the United Nations, Instituto Cervantes, and the Queen Sofia Spanish Institute in New York.
A native of Spain, she received a M.A. in Applied Linguistics from Antonio de Nebrija University in Madrid, Spain. She also holds a B.A. in English Philology from the University of Barcelona, Spain. Before coming to New York, she taught English, Spanish, and Catalan in the Spanish public education system for 7 years.
Leonor is also a licensed evaluator of the DELE (Diploma Español Lengua Extranjera), and collaborates with Instituto Cervantes for continuing education for incoming Spanish foreign language teachers.
At Barnard she teaches both elementary and intermediate levels.
